How it works
Early warning, in three steps.
Read-only monitoring with alerts on every channel you use — set up once, then it watches while you trade.
- 01
Connect a terminal or an exchange
For MetaTrader: install the Chartping agent on the Windows machine or VPS where your MT4/MT5 runs — a setup wizard finds your terminals and installs a small read-only component for you. For exchanges and brokers (13 of them — Binance, Bybit, OKX, Kraken, KuCoin, Bitget, Deribit, Coinbase International, Gate.io, Hyperliquid, OANDA, Alpaca, Tradier; cTrader soon): paste a read-only API key (Hyperliquid needs no key at all — just its public wallet address) — where the platform lets us check scope we reject a trade- or withdrawal-capable key, and Chartping never calls an order or withdrawal endpoint regardless. Everything travels over an encrypted, device-bound connection (TLS 1.3 with Ed25519 proof-of-possession).
- 02
Set your limits
Tell Chartping the limits that matter: maximum daily loss, drawdown-from-peak and margin level — each with an early-warning threshold, and override them per account. Presets ship disabled: you review and confirm every value yourself. Chartping never picks a number or suggests a strategy for you.
- 03
Get early warnings
As your account approaches a threshold you defined, you get an early warning; if a limit is actually reached, a critical alert — as mobile push, on your desktop, by SMS or voice call, or to any webhook you route it to. If you don't acknowledge a critical alert, Chartping re-notifies you a limited number of times while it's still fresh. You decide what to do next; Chartping only reports where you stand against your own rules.
Snapshots, not magic
Chartping reads your account on a short, repeating interval. Alerts are based on those periodic snapshots — they are not tick-by-tick and can be delayed by connectivity, market conditions or your chosen channel. We’re transparent about this because trust matters more than hype: alerts are best-effort, and we don’t promise a service level.
Silence gets flagged
If your terminal closes, your machine sleeps, or the connection drops, Chartping sends a critical “monitoring stopped” alert — and a “monitoring resumed” notice when coverage returns. Silence never means “all clear” — losing visibility is treated as a risk event of its own.
