chartping

Use case · MetaTrader

MetaTrader 4 & 5 account monitoring.

A lightweight read-only agent reads your MT4/MT5 account state — equity, margin, positions and P/L — and warns you on daily loss, drawdown-from-peak and margin level, wherever you are. It never places, modifies or closes a trade.

Runs on any Windows machine, including the VPS your terminal already lives on — your phone still gets the alerts.

How it connects

Read-only, from the machine your terminal runs on.

A lightweight read-only agent

Install the Chartping agent on the Windows machine or VPS where your MT4/MT5 terminal runs. A setup wizard finds your terminals and installs a small read-only component — no DLLs injected into the terminal, nothing that can place or modify an order.

Clear of automation restrictions

Because it never injects anything into the terminal and only reads, it stays clear of broker and prop-firm restrictions on automated trading. It watches; it doesn’t act.

Encrypted & device-bound

The agent link is TLS 1.3 and device-bound (Ed25519 proof-of-possession), so a token intercepted in transit can’t be replayed from another machine. Your broker password never leaves your computer.

What it watches

Every account number that matters.

Live account state, per terminal

Equity, balance, free and used margin, margin level, net P/L and leverage — read live from each account, with today’s P/L and drawdown-from-peak.

Open positions, fully visible

Every open position: symbol, side, volume, open and current price, stop-loss and take-profit, P/L and swap — so nothing is open that you forgot about.

Rules with early warning

Daily loss, drawdown-from-peak and margin level — each with an early-warning threshold and per-account overrides. Presets ship disabled; you confirm every value.

“Monitoring stopped” safeguard

If the terminal closes, the machine sleeps or the VPS reboots, you get a fail-loud alert — and a “monitoring resumed” notice when coverage returns. Silence is never mistaken for “all clear”.

MetaTrader FAQ

Does Chartping see my broker password?+

No. For MetaTrader, the agent reads your terminal locally on your own machine — no password ever leaves it. For exchanges, you paste a read-only API key: where the exchange lets us check scope we reject a trade- or withdrawal-capable key, and in every case Chartping only ever reads — stored encrypted (AES-GCM).

Does it work on a VPS?+

Yes. The agent runs on any Windows machine, including a VPS — a common setup for MetaTrader. Your phone still gets the alerts wherever you are.

What happens if my terminal closes or the VPS reboots?+

You get a “monitoring stopped” alert — silence is never mistaken for “all clear”. When the connection comes back, a “monitoring resumed” notice confirms you're covered again.

How is this different from MetaTrader's built-in alerts?+

MetaTrader alerts fire inside the terminal, on price levels, only while that terminal is open on that machine. Chartping watches account risk — daily loss, drawdown-from-peak, margin level — across every account, keeps watching from the cloud, reaches your phone by push, SMS or voice call, and tells you if monitoring itself ever stops.
